XI'AN, Feb. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Eritrean President Issayas Aferwerki continued his China tour Sunday here in the capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, well known for the terra cotta warriors and steeds buried with Emperor Qin Shihuang who united China in 221 BC.
Issayas toured a local museum exhibiting the terra cotta army created to guard the emperor after his death. He also visited the Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.
Issayas said he was amazed by the gorgeous terra cotta army, one of the eight wonders of the world, and by China's fast economic development.
He hoped Eritrea and China would work together to close their friendly relations and strengthen their cooperation and exchange.
The president arrived in Xi'an Saturday night from Beijing and will continue his China tour in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, and Shenzhen, an economic hub of Guangdong Province in the south.
Issayas arrived in Beijing on Thursday for a state visit as guest of Chinese President Hu Jintao. Enditem |
